Counselling and grief support in Brentwood/surrounding areas My name is Amanda McArdle and I have been a practising volunteer bereavement/grief support worker using counselling skills with Cruse Bereavement Care in the Southend area of Essex since January 2005. Beyond Bereavement as a name has a double meaning, firstly it refers to the counselling service that I offer, which will facilitate you moving forward and through bereavement, and secondly to the support that I am able to give on many of the peripheral issues that are often associated with bereavement.
I am committed to providing both emotional and practical support during this difficult time and in addition to offering counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment can also provide guidance and practical advice to help you cope with many other death related issues such as:
emotional pre and post death decisions - eg organ donation or post mortem inquest hearings funeral arrangements police investigations eg after a road traffic accident
I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to move forward after an experience of bereavement or loss. I believe that all individuals, irrespective of means, should have access to bereavement/loss counselling and support if that is what they want and need.
Whatever the stage of your bereavement - whether it has happened recently or was 20 years ago - it does not matter - your need for a listening ear, help and support is what is important. It is never too late to seek help and support.
Anticipatory Grief
You may be experiencing what is known as 'anticipatory grief' perhaps if you are a carer looking after someone who is terminally ill, or if you know a loved one's passing is imminent. It is never too early to seek help and support.
Ambiguous Loss
You may be experiencing what is known as an 'ambiguous loss' ie you may be grieving a missing or estranged person, or feel that you have lost the essence of a loved one perhaps through advancing age, head injury or mental ill health.
Please telephone or email me to find out more about how I could help you or to make an appointment. I respectively request that you please do not call/email to make an appointment on behalf of another person - the prospective client must make the initial contact themselves, anything other could be indicative that the bereaved person is not yet ready for counselling or support at this time.
My practice area is West & Central Essex and covers Brentwood, Chelmsford, Basildon, Romford, Hornchurch, Upminster, Southend and all surrounding areas. Sessions are held in your own home at a time convenient for you.
Please contact 01277 231936 or 07709 982666 or please email: info@beyondbereavement.co.uk and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
