Professional qualifications/CPD/counselling approach

Professional Qualifications:

I have a Certificate in Counselling Skills & Theory (CSCT), and Certificates in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Brief Solution Focussed Therapy. I have completed Bereavement Awareness Training with Cruse Bereavement Care (Southend & District Branch). In addition I have experience of working in the mental health sector and have taken mental health study with the Open University. I also have a qualification in basic mediation. I am also a volunteer with the Coroners Courts' Support Service which offers support at Inquests.

Continued Professional Development (CPD):

CPD is an integral part of my practice and I attach great importance to it. To this end I have availed myself of the opportunity to familiarise myself with Coroner and post-mortem procedure and to undertake further study into death and dying; Coroner's law and the bereaved; fundamental medicine for the Coroner service; and medico-legal death investigation.

My CPD also continues through attending the annual Cruse Bereavement Care Conference, workshops, courses, supervision and my own personal therapy.
